Morphology Department - UFMG
Dr. Paula
Professor Paula Rocha Moreira is graduated in Odontology form Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1999), master (2003) and doctor (2007) in Celular Biology from UFMG. Her Ph.D. was developed in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, from Odontology School UFMG (2007-2009). Currently she is an associate professor at the Morfology Department and acts on research projects on the biology of inflammatory processes, emphasizing molecular studies in bucal diseases.
Dr. Rodolfo
Professor Rodolfo Cordeiro Giunchetti is graduated in Veterinary Medicine from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2002), master in Parasitology (2004) and doctor in Protozoan Immunobiology, from Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (2007). He is a Ph.D. in Immunology (Vaccines development) from René-Rachou (FIOCRUZ/MG). Currently he is associated professor in the Morfology Department and also leads a Biotechnology research group, focused in the development and testing of immunobiologicals.
Hi there! We are LABIC's working team
The laboratory of cell-cell interactions has as its focus the study of cellular interdependence, underlying immunological aspects in tropical, metabolic and buccal diseases, emphasizing immunoregulation and its mechanisms, towards the development of new biotechnologies
Who are we?
Our integrants include teachers, technician, undergraduates, masters and PhDs
Dr. Walderez
Professor Walderez Ornelas Dutra is Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1989) and Ph.D. in Biochemistry-Immunology from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1995). Currently she is a Full Professor at the Department of Morphology, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. She has experience in Immunology, focusing on celular Immunology, especially in studying the mechanisms of generation of protective or pathogenic immune responses in human diseases, especially leishmaniasis and Chagas disease.
Dr. Juliana
Professor Juliana de Assis Silva Gomes Estanislau is graduated in Biology from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (1993), master (1998) and doctor (2002) in Biochemistry and Immunology from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and Ph.D. in Immunology from René Rachou-FIOCRUZ research center. Nowadays she works as a associate professor and chief of the Morphology Department UFMG. Her main research line approaches the study of prognostic biomarkers in the clinical and therapeutic evolution of parasitic and metabolic diseases.
